Working Groups

If practical stuff isn’t for you then consider lending you time and skills to one of the Working Groups, each of which is helping shape the future of Ffarm Moelyci. How about:

  • Bee Group Ffarm Moelyci is home to many hives, our own and neighbours.  We use them for pollination but also produce some lovely honey for our shop and cafe.  The group has all the kit you need to learn and care for Bee’s
  • Community Orchard – A group set aside for creating a community cider and perry orchard on the farm.
  • Health and Wellbeing – Want to care for others and provide skills and training to help people eat and live better?
  • Welsh Culture and Heritage Working Group – taking the lead on ensuring Ffarm Moelyci both learns from its heritage and speaks out as a part of the Welsh community of which it forms a part.
  • Ecology and Wildlife Working Group – currently surveying the farm and building a picture of what wildlife lives where. Essential if we are to conserve it and enhance it as we reintroduce farming in 2017.  Get in touch, if you’d like to be part of the group.
  • Events @ Moelyci – Ffarm Moelyci is a superb venue and this group are planning events (such as summer fair) and helping us build a great venue for use by others.  Get in touch, if you’d like to be part of the group.
  • Pigs – We have a community pig group, each owning part of a pig and caring for them as a community.
  • Local Food Hub Working Group – helping us make sure the new shop and café space and the new kitchen facilities become a vibrant enterprise that works for the whole of the farming community and not just for this one farm.  Get in touch, if you’d like to be part of the group.
  • The Weather Station Group – Interested in the weather or collecting data about the changing seasons at Ffarm Moelyci?
  • Farming for the Future Discussion Group – over the summer watch out for a series of talk and discussions that are aimed at helping us decide how to reintroduce farming back on to Ffarm Moelyci.  Get in touch, if you’d like to be part of the group.
  • Woodland and Conservation Group – Join in this amazing team to learn wood craft skills and woodland expertise.
